Autoimmune Disease 

Autoimmunity, is a misguided immune system condition that attacks its own tissues of the body. Example,  thyroid disease, vitiligo, lupus, alopecia areata, rheumatoid arthritis, and ulcerative colitis. The reason is unknown to medical science.

All five elements has to be done. 1. Food should be whole, meaning whole red rice, whole millets , cold pressed oil etc because all these helps to balance the nourishment what the human body along with microbial cells require. If there is an imbalance, there will be an imbalance of microbes also. This is why infections set in. 2. Cleansing...do water therapy with ginger in the morning...in the night kadukkai or triphala one teaspoon in one glass hot water should be consumed. Castor oil cleansing also is very important. For the infected portion mix turmeric, neem, castor oil, aloe vera mix should be applied. 3. Do suryanamaskar and connect the mind to the infected area and all parts of the body for body-mind coordination. 4. Do breathing exercise with awareness with the infected region in focus and the whole body relaxed. when you laugh how your belly will go in and out, that way you have to breathe because it improves immunity as well.....the 5. Whatever you will spend for medical treatment outside, make a commitment to donate that amount to charity to socially benefitting activities.

 

If liver is healthy then the body is healthy because liver is the manager of the body. Everything that we do affects our liver. if we sleep late in the nights , it affects the liver because it is in the night that liver's cells night shift work of producing many important pharmaceutical medicines that needs to heal the body. All the medicines that we produce externally through chemicals are produced with more potency by liver.

 

    In the day time liver is totally busy in processing the food we eat and supply the body's demand for doing all work. All the junk food we eat, is an overload for the liver. Imagine liver is the chief servant maid of a palace, who has to monitor all the activities of  the house, especially the kitchen. If you use too many dishes , the maid ends up the whole day cleaning them. She then hardly finds time to other chores of the palace. So only in the night , liver finds time to produce many detoxifying and healing pharmaceuticals for the body.

    Early to bed and sleeping in dark (no bedroom lights) is vital for liver's night shift workers. This is an important life style that can keep body free from many diseases. You should complete 7 to eight hours sleep before the first sunrays fall on your Earth's spot. Ideal time for bed is before 10 PM.

Here are some means to keep the liver healthy and help its work.

Water Therapy :   We generally recommend doing Water Therapy  to cleanse the intestines and liver so that the root cause of many diseases are healed.  Drink 1.5 liters of water first in the morning, using mild amount of different types of healing herbs like  ginger, cumin seeds, mint leaves, cardamom, coriander seeds, Sarsparilla root powder, hibiscus flowers etc).  Each day one herb , but  very small amounts.  Two or three fresh leaves or one teaspoon of dried leaves.

Hot water: Drinking hot water one hour before and after food is a good way to cleanse liver. Drink one tea-cup of really hot water, (drink like drinking hot tea). The hot water will remove mucus from the intestine and also improve digestion. You can add ginger if you need. No sugar in this hot ginger water. Do not drink cold drinks, juices and soft drinks. Cold will destroy the digestive juices and so will add up to weakening liver function.

Gut bacteria and liver team work.  Liver needs many nutrients to keep the body healthy. These nutrients comes from not only from the food we eat, but also the food that is processed by the Gut bacteria in our intestines and amazingly their number is more than the number of human cells in our body. God bacteria processes the food and supply components that are helpful for the liver and other parts of the body. Whereas bad bacteria  processes food that are harmful for the body. Therefore our health depends on the ratio of the good vs bad bacteria. So rememebr to feed the good bacteria and not the bad one's. So eating whole foods support good abcteria work and junk food feeds bad bacteria.

Chewing your food well is healthy for the body: Tamil Indian proverb "norunga thindral nooru vayathu" which means if you chew your food well, then you live for hundred years.  When we chew the saliva mixes well with food and that well chewed food feeds the good bacteria. This is why we always recomend awareful eating (yogic eating).  

Eat fermented rice  and or  fermented barley for more effective results.

Earth Therapy:  Fiber-rich foods are tonic of liver. It gives less work for liver. It supplies nutrients and so makes the liver less tiresome. We recommend using fiberrich whole grains like brown rice (remember to soak in water and cook), whole rye flakes (33% fiber compared to 20% fiber in oats), whole wheat flakes (28%), barley flakes (26%). Millets like Ragi rich in fiber. In all ancient traditions, people ate different types of grains and millets  many of the readers might be unaware of the names.  These millets give different nourishment that help prevent many diseases like cardiovascular, diabetes, cancer etc.  millet, kodo-millet.

Breakfast
Use seven different whole grains for seven days. One can use in the form of pan-cakes (Dosai) or steamed cakes (Idli's), or porridge (oozhu) or cracked-uppuma type (See recipes in Sakthi kitchen).

1. Corn cracked-steamed (uppuma) or pan cake.
2Barley flakes or pan cake.
3. AmaranthUppuma.
4. Rye flakes or pan cake. 
5. Quinoa flakes or Uppuma.
6. Finger Millet  pan cake or porridge.
7. Buckwheat  uppuma or pan cake.

Asian Type 

1. Fox Millet  pan cake or porridge.
2. Barley flakes or pan cake
3. Buckwhea uppuma or pan cake. 
4. Little Millet  pan cake or porridge.
5. Italian Millet  uppuma or pan cake.
6. Banyard Millet  porridge or pan cake.
7Amaranth  uppuma or pan cake.

No refined cereal drinks like Horlicks, Boost, complain should be used. These products are malted sugars and immediately increase blood glucose levels.  Instead fruit juices fresh can be used.

Cooking oil should be only moderate amounts of unrefined sesame oil/olive oil or any other unrefined oils.

Cleansing:

Very important is to cleanse the liver and intestines with Castor oil and Gallnut (cleansing)  before starting the Pancha Bhoota and you can alternatively do the cleanse every two months (one time castor oil , next time gall-nut cleansing). If you have liver failure , then wait for few months till your liver function tests are normal.

Liver -Tonic Chutneys:

Every day eat the following chutneys. One per day. seven days seven chutneys and then repeat them again. All leaves  should be raw and not heat sauted. But you can add coconut, red pepper, or black sesame seeds or split peas dal and salt to make it tasty.

1. Coriandeleaves chutney
2. Phyllanthus Niruri leaves chutney
3. Bringraj leaves chutney 
4. Curry leaves chutney
5. Coriander leaves chutney
6. Mintleaves chutney
7. Moringa leaves  chutney or use Aloe Veraleaves.

     If you feel the chutney is bitter, then you can make it thick and make it as a small moth-ball size and swallow it with water. Make them small balls so that you do not choke yourself.

      If you cannot afford fresh leaves, then get dried leaves and boil in water and drink the decoction with or without honey or Palm Sugar or unrefined or Brown-sugar or jaggery

Juice Therapy:

One Juice a day for seven days a week:

Drink these fresh juices, one a day and repeat the seven every week. It is easy. Just cut and put in blender with little water and dates if needed , blend and drink. Dates increases Iron.

1. Beet root and apple or carrot
2. pumpkin juice
3. Pine-apple juice (Swallow or eat one teaspoon of turmeric powder immediately before or after drinking this juice).
4. Aloe Vera  juice with carrot or plain (freshly made from plant and not bottled or canned).
5. papaya juice
6. Pine-apple juice (Swallow or eat one teaspoon of turmeric powder immediately before or after drinking this juice).
7. Pomegrante juice.

     No bottled or canned. it should be made fresh and not filter it. Clear juices are free from fiber and so drink all juices with the pulp.

 

Triphala Powder - Strengthen Liver: Everyday night take one teaspoon of Triphala powder in 50 ml of hot water. (Please Click here  to find the link to buy this herb).

Fire Therapy:  Less walking causes poor stool (bowel) movements and  that also contributes to constipation. Avoid being  sedentary (more hours of sitting before computers or resting). Walk twice in the morning and evening.

Yoga is very good especially Surya Namaskar given in fire section. Ithelps in good lymphatic circulation.

Air therapy: Taking a long breath and relaxes every now and then reduces stress in the body. Doing Pranayama 5 minutes morning and evening is also good.

Space Therapy: Similarly relaxation  of the mind reduces stress.
