Five steps or Pancha Bhoota

In the previous pages we were discussing about the five steps for perfect health of the body and mind. Why are these five steps suggested and what is the basis for these steps?

We identified that these five steps are similar to the five elements of nature. According to the Indian Vedic tradition there are five principles or  causal factors for nature. These five causal factors are called as Bhoota - Pancha Bhoota.

"Pancha" in Sanskrit means five and "Bhoota" means elements or causal factors. Our human body is also made of these five causal factors.  Imbalance of these five elements results in improper functioning of the body. Restoring these five elements in proper balance restores health.

Using the five elements or Pancha Bhootas in its original form or its principle idea, we have devised this Pancha Bhoota Healing system.  The logic of the system revolves around cleansing and maintenance of the body and mind. Like the body mind connection the five elements of nature are connected. We are inseparable from nature as mind and body relationship. When this relationship is disturbed diseases of mind and body manifest immediately or  lately.

           Prevention is Better than Cure

The information about holistic health care is found in many ancient Indian texts in both Sanskrit and Tamil languages. However we will quote here from the Tamil text.

"Vidiyir Kaalai Thuyil Ezhunthu Neer Maanthi,
paiya Nadanthu, uzhaipirkku yerkka Unavarundhil
Nedu naal uikkumae udal".
             - Arasan Shanmuganar (Tamil Nadu, India)

This means

GETTING UP EARLY IN THE MORNING ,
GULPING WATER, HAVING A SLOW AND STEADY WALK AND
EATING ACCORDING TO ONE'S OWN PROFESSION
IS THE SECRET OF MAINTAINING HEALTHY BODY (and Mind)
.
             - Arasan Shanmuganar (Tamil Nadu, India)

Healer, Arasan, has given the essence of the five steps of healing in his quote.

These five steps are like the five elements (ingredients) of nature and also of our body. Using these five steps we are integrating the five elements in our body for health of  body and mind.
