These noncancerous growths of the uterus may appear during childbearing years. Also called fibromyomas, leiomyomas or myomas, uterine fibroids aren't associated with an increased risk of uterine cancer and almost never develop into cancer. Signs and symptoms

Fibroid location influences signs and symptoms. Fibroids that grow into the inner cavity of the uterus (submucosal fibroids) are thought primarily responsible for prolonged, heavy menstrual bleeding. Fibroids that project to the outside of the uterus (subserosal fibroids) can press on your bladder or ureters, causing you to experience urinary symptoms. If fibroids bulge from the back of  uterus, they can press either on your rectum, causing constipation, or on spinal nerves, causing backache.

Hormones. Estrogen and progesterone, two reproductive hormones produced by the ovaries that stimulate development of the uterine lining in preparation for a possible pregnancy, appear to promote the growth of fibroids. Fibroids contain more estrogen and estrogen receptors than do normal uterine muscle cells. 
Other chemicals. Substances that help the body maintain tissues, such as insulin-like growth factor, may affect fibroid growth. 

Research examining other potential risk factors has been inconclusive. Although some studies have suggested that obese women are at higher risk of fibroids, other studies have not shown a link. In addition, limited studies once suggested that women who take oral contraceptives and athletic women may have a lower risk of fibroids, but later research failed to establish this connection. Researchers have also looked at whether pregnancy and giving birth may have a protective effect, but results remain unclear.

Pancha Bhoota healing for Uterine Fibroids

     When liver function is low, toxins as well as hormones are not eliminated and our own hormones begin to act as toxins in our body stimulating tissues to grow. In addition to human hormones we take inside hormones in form of birth control pills, hormones for infertility, plastics (xenobiotics), hormones from chicken, milk (they are given hormone injections) which can cause cervical tumors. Stress cause imbalance of hormones. Lack of exercise also cause imbalance (High estrogen and low progesterone).

Poly unsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) of vegetable oils are hormone regulators. The best being sesame oil. To keep vitamins alive, oils have to be unrefined, unheated and prepared by cold pressing. These are the recommendations.

3. Do Surya Namaskar everyday. When you do it be aware of the breathing and while you do the bending exercises be aware of the uterus and feel healthy uterus. This exercise gives tremendous results.

Air therapy: Taking a long breath and relaxes every now and then reduces stress in the body. Doing Pranayama  5 minutes morning and evening is also good. Feel your testicles get good oxygen circulation.

The following herbs are very good to clearing the fibroids from the uterus.

Banana flower is one of the most effective Indian home remedies in the treatment of menorrhagia or excessive menstruation. Remove the think skin and take the inner flower, but remove the thin spine in each flower. it is hard to chew. Steam the cleaned flowers and mix with yogurt and spices and eat. It can also be slightly sauted in oil and spiced.  This will increase the quantity of progesterone and reduce the bleeding.

Hibiscus flower (both five petals and the multi red petal are good).Make a tea out of it. Or grind five flowers and take it in the morning before food. It stops heavy bleeding. You can also take in the evening as tea.

Tinospora cordifolia: For heavy bleeding with palpable uterine tumor. Take piece of stem size of middle finger, 2 to 3 grams. Make a decoction to quarter size. Add a little fennel and consume in morning and noon (twice a day) empty stomach. Use everyday except on menstruation for three months.

Triphala powder: Add one teaspoon of the powder in half a glass of water and leave for 10 minutes and drink it before going to bed.

Saraca asoca: Boil a three inch piece of bark with three cups of water till the decoction reduces to three-fourth a cup. Add a bit of crystal sugar. Take this decoction about 3/4th cup thrice a day before meals in the morning, afternoon and night for the first three days of menstruation for three months.

Mimosa pudica:Make a decoction of the whole plant or dry whole plant and powder it.  During menstruation take 1 gm of powder mixed with ghee and sugar early in the morning for a week. Repeat this for three months. If made as a tincture, then 10 drops of tincture in a glass of water once a day for a week during menstruation for three months. So use this for the next four days after using saraca-asoca.

Amla. Boil the whole plant with leaves, stem fruit, seeds in two cups of  water till the decoction reduces to half a cup. Take this decoction before meals in the dinner if you are also using saraca-asoca.

Terminalia arjuna: Boil a piece of bark with two cups of water till the decoction reduces to half a cup. Take this decoction before meals in the afternoon of the days. If you use along with  mimosa-pudica in the morning.


Indian sarsaparilla: Boil a piece of root with two cups of water till the decoction reduces to half a cup. Take this decoction before meals in the afternoon of the days.

5ml leaf juice of Desmodium trifolium (Malaylam-Cheru palladi) is mixed with honey  and taken  in empty  stomach for a week will be effective for
excessive menstrual bleeding.

These herbal foods  remove toxins. If you get fresh leaves grind as a chutney. Otherwise  make a decoction by boiling one teaspoon in one tea-cup of water.

Several recent epidemiologic studies have found that people with higher-fiber diets have less insulin resistance.

Once a day take Amaranth.
You can soak half a tea cup of amaranth seeds and grind next day with same water. You could add slightly brown sugar and make like a halwa (porridge). Or you can eat in form of idli.
