Take a simple mantra like Tryambakam Yajamahe and chant in the Uni5 format and see how powerful it is.

‘Om Triyamkakam Yajaamahe
Sugandhim Pushti Vardhanam,
Urvarukameeva Bandhanaat
Mrityor Mukteeya Mamrutat.’

Two things are key here.

One is pushti which means healthy and vardhanam which means to grow, multiply or expand. So grow full of nourishment, a healthy type of growth. The ultimate growth we can achieve is from our individual body to the divine state. If you can reach the highest, divine, eternal state, then isn't that the highest state that you want to achieve?

Now if you look at your 5 fingers, you are the index finger used to refer to I and you. This finger next to the thumb is the self awareness finger used universally by everyone in the world. The little finger represents the body which is not eternal, the ring finger represents the mind which is always changing, the middle finger represents the worldly knowledge which is also changing but helps you know the higher knowledge. We generally associate with these three. Now attach the index finger with the thumb, which is attaching you to the consciousness. To attain that you have to detach from the body, mind and intelligence, which means that you need to break your relation or Bandhanat with everything identified with your body, mind and intelligence.

Does not mean ignore the body, but don't identify with it. You are using your body, mind and intelligence but you are not those three things. You are this awareness or the index finger which has to undergo pushti vardhanam. Now look at the mantra - ‘Om Trayambakam Yajaamahe’ - one with 3 eyes or Lord Siva which is the symbolism of consciousness. Sugandhim pushti vardhanam - O Lord I have to undergo the highest, healthy growth. ‘Urvarukamiva Bandhanat Mrityor Muksheeya Mamrutat’ - detach myself from the body, mind and intelligence so that I will not undergo mortal death and birth in a cycle.

Use mudras or fingers also while chanting this. Very easily your self will guide you and bring the knowledge to you. It is like a Guru, in the vedic term, which means somebody without whom you cannot attain but from whom you also have to detach or become independent of the teacher. Like the uni5 pattern or Indian number system, which starts from 0-9. Once you learn from 0-9 from a teacher then you are independent, never dependent on the teacher. Then you learn eternity. In the same way once you learn the 5 energy pattern, then you are independent. But a guru is needed initially, which is the uni5 knowledge which is really the guru.

For example in India the sump pump is used for the bore well initially. If you pump it only air comes out of the earth unless some water is used to touch the water underground. So we borrow one bowl of water from our neighbour and pour it into the sump pump. This water goes to the ground and touches the water underground and the pumping pulls the water up. Once you pull up the water you are independent of your neighbors water. Now you can take unlimited water from your own ground. Similarly you need an external guru initially for this knowledge to get in touch with your own self. Once you are in touch with your own self, you keep pumping and the knowledge gushes out. This is possible and my own experience has been that. Once I knew the pattern through a guru then it is an ocean of knowledge that I am getting tapped into. It is possible for everyone of us. It has nothing to do with intelligence, college degree, man, woman, caste etc. If you can learn this simple pattern then you can attain the highest. So start with this Mantra if you are really serious about it.
