I am currently taking antibiotics while breastfeeding my one month old baby. I am concerned that the baby might not develop good gut health due to this antibiotic course. What can I do to recover good gut health at the earliest thereby passing on good gut health to the breastfeeding baby?

If you had a C section delivery, then the baby would not get the mother's natural bacteria. On top of that the mother's antibiotics worsen it. This is why we suggest women to do all the pregnancy steps to get a normal delivery.

at this point, now the only way for the baby to get good gut health is from the environment only. If you are from India, then take the baby after 3 to 6 months and expose to the environmental flora. Most C section born babies born in India have less of allergies compared to the children born to Indian parents in US/UK or Europe.

When the baby starts to take solid food, give the Indian yogurt and fermented rice (anytime from 8 months to one year old). Do not give any formula food which makes allergy problems shoot up. Try giving breast milk as long as possible.

Follow the environmental factors given next too.

We are wrongly educated that immunity is based on nutrient rich food only. Babies get environmentally good bacteria through touching and licking. These days parents are over concerned about children touching and licking objects fearing they would get diseases. Modern science says the opposite is True.

If we use common sense, we can understand why children in slums have good immunity. This is because their parents do not have the educated fear of dirt and diseases. Hence those children get exposed to all environmentally friendly bacteria.

I recently met a scientist who showed data of analyzing feces of children at different ages. She found that gut of 3 to six month babies have mom's vaginal bacteria species predominately.

Six months to one year, the baby's gut has more of mother's mouth or oral bacteria because the mother will give food that she has tasted and also from kissing.

In the end of first year, the child has bacteria that resembles mother's skin bacteria. This is because the baby has started to touch and lick things in mouth that has been in contact with mother's hand.

In later years, the gut of the baby has bacteria that is found more in the environment.

These gradual transition of bacterial population in the child's gut makes their immunity stronger. It is altering this balance of species that makes the children have poor immunity. We are wrongly educated that immunity is based on nutrient rich food only.

: I have seen my grandma giving sesame oil massage to new born babies. The way she twists the babies would be very very scary. But those children have grown very strong in body and immunity health. After the baby has been given bath, she will blow air (from her mouth) into the ears and nose of baby as an act of removing water from these organs.

These children rarely had any ear infections or lung infections or cough or cold, when they were young. They never had any vaccines or pediatric visits and yet remained very healthy. This is because she was actually giving the good microbes to the new born babies ears and lungs.

We are in an illusion of giving chemically dirt food to children as modernized and scorn naturally dirt (mud) as "Slummy". No wonder In Kali Yuga people awareness will be only at physical body level only.
