What is the purpose behind going to sabarimala and why do you recommend it to others? I ask this coz based on discussion, its my understanding you dont believe in God. Is there something else you seek?

Excellent doubt!. There is no God (as a person), other than the eternal, all pervading Consciousness. But God as a person do exists in the imaginative minds of people. When they transcend beyond this mind and look at the complete picture, they do confront this Eternal Truth (Reality) of Consciousness.

God as Consciousness and Energy
are two different aspects. People confuse these two and make their life miserable and give way for atheists a valid reason to criticize. God as Consciousness is un-conditional, God as Energy is conditional and gives Energy based on our attitude.

As discussed in this thread... Why Consciousness should become Energy and then get back to its own nature .....we have become Energy now and so require Energy for survival and also to get back to Consciousness state.

Living life is an expense of Energy. We live to fulfill our desires. Fulfillment is an expense of our Energy. Basic desires reduce our energy slowly and negative thoughts and luxury depletes one's own Energy rapidly. Positive thoughts and sacrifice generates Energy. When one spends too much on luxuries of life or negative thoughts, then basic survival expenses become a problem. Then either we work for the energy or loan the Energy with a condition of paying it back.

Sabarimala like places are "Energy-Banks", where one can loan out Energy. It is not free, but has to be repayed like any loan. The loan collection officer is called Shani (Saturn) and when the term period is matured, the loan officer will take away anything you posses if the loan is not payed back.

This is why in Shani's period (Loan collection period), people experience loss of health, wealth, profession, relationships etc etc (Depression is lack of mental Energy is also experienced in Shani's period. Lack of intelligent thinking and decisive making power is also lost making wrong choices in life).

Prayer is a loan from Cosmic Bank or from another individual(s). It is not free. It has to be payed back. If not one is deprived of basic amenities. Prayers does not work always for most people, similar to loans rejected by banks due to poor credit history. It is given to those who has the potential to pay it back.

When everywhere loan is rejected, a great Yogi like Siddhar Ayyappan in Sabarimala, loan it for people to get back home (Moksha). Shani (Saturn) however makes sure that the loan is given as a payment and so one becomes free from Cosmic Debt. The pilgrims show this by wearing black and blue dress in the Yatra.

By using our Energy, we work (observe penance or vratham) and obtain the Energy as blessing. The 41 days of penance and chanting during the sabarimala yatra pilgrimage is to get this Energy and use it to make life better in this vaccation place (Earth) or get back home (Moksha).

1. Can Ayyappamaar eat foods that contain elaichi, graambu, pattai, other spices

The purpose of Ayyappa Vratha is to convert Aatma-sakthi and increase Adrishta or Luck Energy in life. One major way to aatma-energy is wasted is through sex, because all five sensorial organs are involved. Foods that can stimulate sexual feelings are those mentioned spices, garlic, onions etc. So it is better to avoid these foods in sabarimala vratham.

2. Can Ayyappamaar who are not educated or cant read skip lokaveeram and bhajans
? Chanting lokaveeram and bhajans are another way to increase Aatma Sakthi. If they are not educated to read them, then they can do Swamiyae Saranam Ayyappa chantings. Even higher Aatma sakthi generator is through community service or seva.

According to the desperateness and ability one could choose one of the five Aatma-Sakthi generating ways. It's all our choice.
