One of the tricky question in Selftual or Spiritual Science is about Ego.

The question is asked in many ways. One fo the most asked format is - If our True Self is Consciousness or Atma or Soul, which is always Poorna (complete), Ananda (Blissful), Eternal (no life and death), then why do we undergo the opposites of suffering, sorrows and life and death cycle.

In other words, who is the one who needs to do spiritual practice. Many wrongly interpret/understand the Guru, think that we dont need to do anything, everything happens in its own course.

Answer: Ego is virtual and not real. It is like the virtual particles in Quantum physics.

Virtual means "Existing or resulting in essence or effect though not in actual fact, form, or name" ( dictionary ). The Ego assumes the soul form and then sucks energy and never gives back. This is why when we are identified to ego, we undergo problems in life. Then we talk about SAL Energy deficiency and the need to increase it.

We borrow the Cosmic energy to fulfill desires in life. We have to pay back to Cosmic through selfless service. This connection we see even with material science also.

You may be wondering where the virtual particles come from and indeed where they go to. They do in fact only exist during the interaction. The energy for their creation is 'borrowed' from the universe. Although this seems to violate the energy conservation law it is allowed as long as the borrowed energy is 'paid back' quickly enough.
